Welcome to my homepage! I am a second-year law student at Fordham University School of Law, in the New York City. I expect to get my Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree in May 2011. I am also an officer of the Chinese Business Lawyers Association (CBLA), a first-of-its-kind New York non-profit organization founded by seven U.S. lawyers with Chinese background. Prior to law school and the Big Apple, I was in graduate school for three years: first in the Economics Department of Washington University in St. Louis, where I got my Master's degree in Economics in May 2007. WashU was the first stop of my new life in the States, and I loved it very much. Then, from August 2007 to August 2008, I was a Ph.D. student at the Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University. My research area was Organizational Behavior, with a focus on behavioral economics and behavioral decision-making. I met some of the most incredible professors and fellow doctoral students in Pittsburgh. I have retained an intense interest in behavioral science and wish to apply those insights to my legal studies and practice. Before coming to the States, I was an undergrad economics major at Renmin University of China (colloquially and fondly known as "Renda"), in Beijing. As people like to say, it was "the best four years" in one's life. One of the most prominent Chinese universities in humanities and social sciences, Renda is where this thrilling, trans-national journey all began. I love literature, movie and music, and enjoy running, swimming and ball games. In college, I learned French as an elective course for two years. I write regularly on current affairs (esp. international) and cross-cultural issues of interest. For five years, I've been writing a blog (total visits: over 50,000) for a select group of readers, and received critical acclaim. I have been an announcer/anchor of campus broadcasting stations from primary school to college, and have built a track record as a bilingual host of international conferences and events since college. Related, I have won a number of awards in poem recitation, and performed on-stage in such occasions as the Tenth Anniversary of the China Center for Economic Research (in the audience were Mr. Wang Qishan, then Beijing mayor and current Vice Premier of China; Sir James Mirrlees, Nobel laureate in economics; Professor Justin Yifu Lin, founding director of CCER, World Bank Chief Economist and Senior Vice President; among others). |
